Youtube Stops View Counter On Ron Paul Interview

This is a new low ladies and gentleman. Even youtube has joined the anti-freedom campaign. A video of Jim Cramer interviewing Ron Paul today (December 14th, 2007) is not counting the number of views. Youtube visitors won’t have the option of searching Ron Paul or Jim Cramer and seeing this video based on View Count. Simply stated, this means less publicity for the savior of America, Ron Paul.

Have a look at this screen shot…

Youtube Ron Paul Locked View Count

I wish this was a joke, but unfortunately it’s not. How does a view counter just mysteriously stop counting how many times a video has been viewed?! Despite being on the front page of Digg, even as I write this, the view count is still locked at 204. What the hell is youtube doing? Has Google sold us out? What happen to Don’t Be Evil?

Check out the youtube link above and post back your findings. If the view counter catches up, I’d definitely like to know.

I wonder if YouTube has a new system in place to deter people trying to boost their view count? A program that says, “Oops, a view spike, better shut it down!”

That might explain why they would fix it later on a piecemeal basis. You’d think if they really were being sinister, they’d say there was some incurable glitch and leave it at 204. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they or some other huge site tried to pull a fast one… And maybe they did…

That is rather evil, if intentional.

After Fox and ABC were doing their “we’re not inviting you to our interviews” crap, onward it goes.

Sadly, these things happen all the time now, with the mass media controlling almost everything. For example, you mentioned Digg … which itself censors postings. Many Digg posts with huge numbers of diggs will never appear on the front page, simply because the topic is not desirable to them.

There’s another one with over 8,000 comments but strangely, only 213 views. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryMliyeIDp4
