Yet Another Way to Make Money Online

This is a pretty simple idea that I’ve yet to experiment with, but would love to hear some feedback on. Also, I’m not sure on how ethical this method is, but the concept is so simple, I don’t see where the line is crossed.

First, locate a company that pays you $0.XX per click. In the past I’ve come across sites that pay $0.05 to $0.10 per unique referral. This doesn’t mean Adsense, but companies that give you a special URL with a tracking ID. Here’s an example:

http://www.some-company.com/?aff_id=zx2091129

I’ll try and locate the sites I’ve come across in the past and mention them here.

Ok, now that’s done, we need to get some unique visitors to visit our special address. There are several options to consider, but the most noticeable are pay per click campaigns. Setup a campaign in Adwords, AdCenter, Yahoo! Search Marketing, or wherever. Bid lower than what you’re being paid (I recommend $0.01-$0.02 per click) and launch the campaign!

Another way to drive traffic is to find a traffic service site that sells packages of unique visitors. Some advertising networks offer 5,000 unique visitors for $0.005. That’s less than a penny per unique visitor! Make sure the destination URL of whichever method you decide to follow through with is the URL provided by your CPC company.

Here’s some Adwords math:

1,000 clicks @ $0.02 per click is $20 1,000 unique referrals @ $0.05 each is $50 $30 profit

Rinse and repeat for $60, $90, etc..

Here’s some paid traffic math:

5,000 visitors @ $0.005 per visitor is $25 5,000 unique referrals @ $0.05 each is $250 $225 profit

Talk about a huge return of investment. Anyone else seeing results implementing this method?

Hi Guy,

You know, that do sound very viable. Almost on the brink of black hatting. Might just try it if I can find such affiliate sites.

So, I’ve been considering AdWords lately and I remembered about his article. I looked into these other sites about paid traffic and I also searched around on forums for people talking about using these paid traffic sites. What I’ve been able to gather about these sites is that it is just a major headache and you *might* risk getting banned from Google’s AdSense. Apparently, a lot of these sites that promise 100K unique visitors tend to usually send out spam or some other form of annoying advertising. Yes, you may actually get that many unique visitors but you will not be targeting the people you want to keep coming back to your site. The techniques used may also go against Google’s ToS for AdSense, I could be wrong but I have a feeling it will.

I’m not saying that all of these types of sites will do it this way but it’s hard to tell which ones do and which ones don’t. The sites that work like Google’s AdWords seem to be your best bet. So, here is my question to you. Do you currently use AdWords or any similiar program and if so, have you seen much success since you started using it?

I’ve spent about $25 in Adwords advertising, but have yet to figure out a way to determine if this traffic is converting. The campaigns I’ve setup are currently paused, and there’s been no noticeable decrease in revenue. In my opinion, Adwords and similar methods of advertising aren’t worth the money unless you’re promoting some really high priced items (cars, for example).

For now, I’m sticking to natural, organic search engine traffic.
