What’s up? Shut up.
I’m tired of the typical, mundane conversation starters. How are you? How goes it? What’s up? What’s good? What’s shakin’? I wish I could walk up to someone and skip the intro. “Hi, my dog died.” or “Hi, I’m tired of asking people what’s up!” But I have a feeling people wouldn’t know how to react.
When I was in St. Louis, my uncle taught me that when people say “How ya doin?”, you always respond with a question, usually the same question, “How YOU doin?”, and keep walking. Because the fact of the matter is, no one cares how you’re doing! It’s true up north, and it should be true everywhere else.
So the next time some one asks me, “what’s up?”, i’m gonna say “what’s up?” and move on. Is that rude? Am I the only one tired of saying ‘what’s up’?

I’m not sure if that’s rude or not. Rude is defined by individual standards, but I must say I agree. Unless the person asking is someone I consider a friend, the inquiry is usually meaningless.
“Hey, hows it goin?” “Gooood. How about you?” “Gooood.” “Goooooooooooooood.”
Yeah. No one cares. I don’t think it’s rude to not inquire with this question. It shows character and individual thought. Besides, when in the midst of a full-fledged conversation, the topic will eventually come up. Maybe.
It’s a boring initialization of conversation for sure.
Very typical. Any other suggestions for conversation starters? How about.. “What it do.” That’s my favorite
