Thank you so much for posting this. I was pulling my hair out trying to find a tool that did this. :)

No problem d00d - glad you enjoy! At the time, I was ripping my hair out too. After giving it some thought, decided I'd just code it myself! w00w00.

Good idea but I haven't made any plans to release this as a stand alone executable. You're more than welcome to use this one all you want :) If you need some encrypsh, feel free to use: https://www.nullamatix.com/various-tools/the-nullamatixcom-multiline-md5-hash-generator/ - it's a StarCom Cert and shouldn't give you any shit in FireFox.

This tool rocks. You've just saved me hours and hours of work generating unique hash for a Drupal data upload.

Oh my goodness, THANK YOU! I have a seriously messed up language file for a client, and the variables all are based on the MD5 hash. I was going to have to do each phrase one at a time - and there are hundreds! What a wonderful tool!

Thanks for this guy. Was surprised how hard it was to find a decent bulk MD5 generator which didn't require a download. Would be nice to see a higher limit on the number of lines and possibly a .csv upload function if youo feel like developing it further;-) Cheers

John,

You're welcome.

Yea, total BS, most of which are probably spyware/adware anyway!

> Would be nice to see a higher limit on

Done :] I've increased the limit to 10,000 characters, roughly 10 kilobytes.

> possibly a .csv upload function if you

Will work on a CSV version when I get a chance, work has me slammed these last few months. Appreciate the kind words and the suggestions!

This is a great tool - do you (or anyone else) know of a utility that can handle more than 500 chars?

collapse Guy Patterson # @ 2011-05-24 04:27:53

Adam,

Since you're subscribed, you'll probably notice the update to John's previous comment. The 500 character limit has been changed to 10,000 characters.

I am not aware of another web-based tool that converts lines of data into md5 hashes at this time.
