Tools

Whether they’re for cabinet making, or Internet marketing, almost everyone has a set of tools. This page will serve as the basis for an ongoing project aimed at providing an organized list of free tools for web developers, Internet marketers, and network specialists. I can’t guarantee to publish a post each time a tool is added, so check back frequently for updates.

Internet Marketing Tools:

Adwords Keyword List Generator (internal - 03/23) - This tool will aid Adwords advertisers, and other PPC advertisers, with developing a highly targeted or themed list of keywords & keyphrases. Automatic inclusion of broad, exact, or phrase matching is easily toggled with a checkbox. The tool is also capable of assigning a landing page and Max CPC for each generated list of keyphrases. This tool is guaranteed to save PPC advertisers time and money. Best of all, it’s free.

Network & Security Tools:

Multiline (bulk) MD5 Hash Generator (internal - 02/27) - Most of the md5 hash generators that exist on the net only permit one value at a time. Well this isn’t most md5 hash generators. The Nullamatix MD5 hash generator converts each line of submitted data to the corresponding MD5 value with a maximum input limit of 500 characters. If you should ever need a unique, and nearly impossible to guess list of unique values, the Nullamatix multiline md5 hash generator will do the trick.

List of IPs Known to Scrape Content (internal - 02/27) - Use this huge list of 6,000+ IPs at your own risk since some of them may no longer harvest data. If you’re the owner of one of these IPs, feel free to visit the about page and send me an email to have your IP removed. Anyway, use the list to see if your site is a victim of data mining, which is typically used by splogs or scraper/spam blogs. If there’s an unusually high amount of bandwidth being sent to one or more of the IPs on this list, chances are, your content is being stolen.

I’m looking to start a small “business-LIKE” space on one of my web servers that simply serves the purpose of posting pics from events that i shoot and allowing visitors to purchase them - linked directly to my paypal account. I know there are a variety of tools to help me with this - but which ones? 1) got to have something that will batch export photos with a naming convention, thumbnail vs enlargement, watermark (i don’t think this script is safe enough) an easy form for ordering that uses my paypal button at the end.

It really doesn’t sound that complex I don’t think. But i’d rather skip testing most of this and just go right to the apps that i someone might know actually work. Hopefully this site will help me on some cheap advertising too - (i know NOTHING about that!)

Sorry if this post got a little off topic - perhaps it should be under web stuff/misc/development. Your call Guy.

For this type of project, I would go with Gallery. It’s free, open source (customizable), and loaded with features.

Main project url: http://gallery.menalto.com/

Features: http://gallery.menalto.com/features
