Time For a Vaction, Sort of…

On Friday, January 18th, 2008, my employer confiscated my company assigned mobile device, employee identification card, and then escorted me out of the building. To prevent myself from getting into more trouble, I’m going to refrain from mentioning specific details explaining why I was placed on administrative leave; but I will say the entire experience has definitely made me appreciate my job more than ever. A return trip from a friend’s house forced me to pass the building I usually work in, and that’s when everything really sank in.

Hopefully, once this is all settled and done, writing about the series of events that lead up to this vacation won’t result in additional consequences. As of right now, there’s been no mention of a date to return back to work, so there’s no telling how long this vacation is going to last. One of my colleagues mentioned a similar scenario where someone they worked with had been placed on administrative leave for three months, but returned back to work after the investigation was complete. Hopefully The Universe is on my side and will provide a similar outcome.

In the meantime, I’ll continue developing web sites, working on new & ongoing projects, learning, writing, and anything else that has potential to produce positive results. To keep myself from totally losing my mind, I’ve decided to take my employer’s final words in stride and just relax. There’s no use stressing over the potential outcomes, and so far, remaining positive about the whole situation has been extremely helpful.

Stay tuned for updates and more details, they’re guaranteed to provide entertainment no matter the outcome. To conclude this post, I’d like to leave everyone with some words of ignorance that were recently shared with me, on this very blog.

“This is far from over, fyi.”
