Thanksgiving Deals, Discounts, and Sales - Black Friday 2007 Tips and Info

Each year, millions of Americans wake up early on the Friday after Thanksgiving to stand in a dark parking lot for hours. Some curse, some push, some shove, some fight, but everyone is looking for great deals. Hard core fanatics take time to make strategies: family member A goes to store X, family member B goes to store Y, etc, etc. With Black Friday ads in hand, everyone struggles to get the cheap deals circled the day before.

This year, skip the crap and enjoy the convenience of the Internet. Here’s a list of sites that can help you stay home, or go out, and reap the benefits of Black Friday, 2007.

Black Friday Ads is a fantastic site that scans paper advertisements and makes them available on-line. From their web-site,

“Any and all items posted on BFAds.net prior to an advertisement being nationally released are to be regarded as speculation. We are in no way affiliated with any stores listed on our site and any sale information is in no way validated or confirmed until released an advertisement has been released by its parent company. Don’t be surprised if our speculated deals are correct, we do have a very good track record in the past years.”

This site appears to mainly focus on in-store items - Visit them at: http://bfads.net/

Even Amazon.com is participating in the Black Friday frenzy! From their web-site,

“While we don’t have a cold, dark parking lot for you to line up in, we do have a bunch of great deals to help you get your holiday shopping done for less. Be sure to check back here on the day after Thanksgiving to see our Black Friday 2007 specials, but for now you can see the current list of the best deals on our site below.”

Amazon is advertising slashed prices in the following categories:

  • Jewelry
  • Mens, Women’s and Children’s Apparel
  • Tools
  • Kitchen Items
  • and more

Here’s a list of tips to aid you in your potential Black Friday adventure:

  • Obtain a copy of your local paper Thanksgiving Day for advertised sales
  • Pre-plan what you’re looking to purchase
  • Give precedence to big ticket items, savings are typically larger on a nice projector compared to a thumb drive
  • If possible, work as a team (family, friends) or group to help each other obtain desired items
  • Avoid restocking fees by purchasing only highly desired items
  • Shop online, duh!

Have a safe and pleasant Black Friday, and remember, a discounted item isn’t worth going to jail.
