GMail: Sorry, You Account Has Been Disabled
Quite a few people over in Google groups have been reporting their gmail account has been disabled. Users are also mentioning they’re unable to contact anyone at Google, and they’ve yet to receive any sort of written response from Google, either. Although a couple long term GMail users have mentioned their account is disabled, the problem appears to affect recently created accounts the most.
Rick Higbee explains,
my account was 3 years old and was primary account for my real estate business. I have contracts and very important contact info I can’t access. Seemed to happen the same time as everyone else and I certainly haven’t violated the TOS.
If your account has been disabled, you’re encouraged to submit this form to Google. Someone suggested this is a temporary problem that happened last year, but aren’t you suppose to learn from history so the same mistakes aren’t repeated? Several people explained that calling Google either results in obnoxiously long sessions listening to hold music, an automated response instructing the caller to visit the help portion of Google’s site, or to just use the on-line contact form.
As I write this I’m logged into my GMail account - what’s your Gmail account status? Comment below..

I’ve had my Gmail account for about a year and a half and have yet to experience any problems. My Gmail account status? Never better!
Mine is still up and running :]
But I wonder why people can’t get in touch with anyone at Google… they too busy trying to own the world?
Perhaps the faulty service is merely trying to get us to appreciate it in the first place. Gmail is great; the staff that runs it is bound to have issues every now and then. Even if this problem has previously occurred, maybe the cause of fallacy is something completely different. Who knows? I bet those people sure would enjoy having access to a functioning account once more.
One of my primary gamil account is not accessible too for a couple of days but it is okey now. They might be tinkering on the system or what.
Either way, they should have made a public notice of sort.
Right out of the blue while sending a email to a mailing list I’m a member of my account was disabled ([email address]). Aside from personal family/school emails the only thing I use my email account for is posting to some mac and linux mailing lists so I can’t possibly imagine why Google would want to disable my account. I have a sent a inquiry to google regarding this event and unless I here back from google (not holding my breath) I guess I’ll just have to chalk this up to a glitch in the gmail beta program. However I also wonder if one or more accounts were causing some form of trouble on the server I was on that triggered a mass disabling of accounts on the server the account was on as such I would like to know, has anyone else’s account been disabled tonight? Very weird…
Best Regards,
John Musbach
