Affiliate Party - Minus Strippers and Booze

The concept is similar to that of a LAN party where people bring their PC’s, connect ‘em all up, and play games until the sun rises. Except in my party, a group of Internet Marketing guru’s, wanna-bes, and even friends get together to bounce ideas off one another. Imagine, an all night spree of just finding CPA offers to promote, buying the domain, building the site, launching an ad campaign, and moving onto the next offer. There’s no telling how many sites you’ll end up with at the end of the night, but one of them is guaranteed to make some money. In the event a site doesn’t generate any cash, try to optimize the ad campaign or just scrap that entire site & campaign.

After discussing this idea with a good buddy of mine he immediately responded with, “well, you have to consider the fact that there’s money involved.” But here’s the beauty of the whole thing. Each individual at the party would work toward completing their own goals/projects, but the other participants would provide ideas, suggestions, etc. Since the party will more than likely involve a group of friends, exchanging ideas and offering suggestions should come naturally. Friends typically enjoy helping other friends, right? There’s no need to bicker over the cost of an idea or a tip, just openly aid each other with design concepts, keywords, campaign strategies, etc. Instead of wasting time playing Counter Strike all night accomplishing absolutely nothing, you’ll have collectively worked with like minded people all with the same goal in mind - making money online.

Here’s another possibility, but here’s where the money gets involved and things could get tricky. In this hypothetical scenario, one party attendee isn’t fluent in XHTML/CSS but has the ability to design kick-ass graphics for templates, themes, banners, logos, etc. Perhaps he could trade off a unique design, logo, etc, for a little coding. Maybe even delegate certain individuals to perform certain tasks. If one guy is a certified Adwords specialist, put him/her in charge of creating the ad campaigns for each attendee. If one guy knows XHTML/CSS, designate him/her as the template master. Just imagine the creative potential a group of people all working toward the same goal could exert. The outcome in my eyes would definitely be rewarding. Not only would the party make the attendees cash, but everyone would learn something, and hopefully build even closer bonds with one-another as a result of the extended socialization.

This was just a thought, but if the opportunity to actually carry out this idea ever takes place, I’ll definitely blog about the short-term and long-term benefits. If you’ve ever done anything like this, please share the outcome of the experience with everyone by posting a comment, I’d love to hear from you. And if you haven’t already, I highly recommend subscribing to my full RSS feed.
